4th Grade Trash Art
In 3rd quarter, we studied the different parts of the watershed and what makes it a biodiverse ecosystem. Trash makes it difficult for our ecosystems to thrive. This project is to creatively use trash (items that would normally be thrown away) to create an art piece of an endemic species to Hawaii. Type of Art Piece: Option 1 - Trash Fashion -Create clothing out of items normally thrown out as trash. -Clothing should be tailored to fit your body (requires measurement). Option 2 - Trash Sculpture -Create a small sculpture of an endemic species to Hawaii using things normally thrown out/ trash. -Sculpture should be between 10-24 inches tall. Option 3 - Trash Mosaic -Create a mosaic of an endemic species to Hawaii using items normally thrown out of trash (bottle caps, magazine cuttings). -Mosaic base could be made from a cardboard box material no larger than a soda tray. Explain your art piece: Include in your answer: Why did you choose the materials? What messages does your art piece convey? What elements of art and design did you include? (google if you don’t know the elements of art are. We discussed it in class.)
